Thomas Kite

Thomas was a convict who was tried in London in Jan 1812 and sentenced to death which was commuted to life because of his former good character. He arrived in the colony aboard the ship 'Fortune' on 11 Jun 1813. He received a conditional pardon in 1818 and an absolute pardon on 31 Dec 1836.
Interesting. He lived until 87 but 2 child and wife passed on years before him!

As usual in the 1800's - an interesting history. If he had never stolen that money he would never have come to Australia!
