@bigmxx when people say there are no blue flowers - tell them about this (tho', thinking about it, that may be black flowers they say there are none of!!)

The meconopsis are a wonderful blue. You are so lucky to be able to grow these. The national flower of Bhutan, and must have a lime free mountain soil to thrive. The Lake District clearly fits the bill here.

@korky I think our soil is quite neutral - not clayey, not sandy, not limey - and just a bit poor.
