These are one of my favourite flowers. In my garden in Scotland I planted 10 bulbs, in grass, about 20 years ago and they have self seeded and now there are hundreds of flowers in that area of grass. I haven't seen them flower since we came to Vietnam, I miss them so much. I read that it takes five years for a seed to become a bulb and flower, so it's quicker to plant more bulbs!
@phplananh I haven't got that many - but more may come up elsewhere, as I let my gardener choose where to plant them to surprise me! (and I've forgotten where the others were (if there were any!! (memory!))) I wonder if they do better in lawns than borders?
