Gardening

We are very busy right now with gardening; mostly flowers and some tomatoes and basil. I'll be posting photos over the next few days on this theme. This photo is special to me because I believe that it is the first time I've posted a photo that I have shot using a creative mode. I've had very little success with these settings and they always turn out too dark. It is rather frustrating and I can tell by reading some of the articles on 365 that I'm not alone. This one was pretty simple, I adjusted the shutter speed to a fast setting to capture the water from the sprinkler. My first attempts were very dark so I kept decreasing the shutter speed until I got enough light. I'm satisfied with the detail of the spraying water--a tight stream of water at the beginning and it develops into a spray at the end. Baby steps!
April, I think you did a marvelous job of capturing the stream/spray of water. This is wonderfully done. I've tried a couple of fountains and have found how hard it is to do well.

A great water capture April. I too took water shots for my photo friends project and am not too happy with them but they will have to do. It will be interesting to see what the others have to offer next week at the meeting.
