This 365 Project is my challenge for 2012 (actually it will be a 366 Project, being a leap year!) and I intend to use a mixture of digital and film images during the course of the year (it will mostly be digital but with a sprinkling of film) Being inspired by other 365-ers will be important to me in developing my own photographic skills.
I think my Project will turn out to be a photographic diary of my life in 2012 and I intend to accompany every image with a brief commentary explaining its significance in my eyes.
I enjoy photography and took the Open University course "T189 Digital photography: creating and sharing better images" in 2007. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and completed it using my Fuji Finepix F700 digital camera purchased in 2005.
In 2008, I added another Fuji digital camera to my collection (the S5800 'bridge' camera) and in 2011, a Sony compact digital camera (DSC HX5).
Also in 2011, I inherited my Uncle's 1983 Canon T50 35mm film camera with lenses and flashgun. Enquiries indicated that the Canon FD lenses would not work with any modern digital camera which dashed my hopes of buying a new or second hand digital Canon to go with them.
So I purchased a T90, in immaculate condition and originally owned from new, which went off to John Lowe here in the UK for a CLA because it had a sticky shutter after not being used for a while. I also bought a couple of lenses (35-70mm and 35-105mm) and am currently awaiting the arrival of a 300TL flashgun later this month.
I photograph mainly seascapes, landscapes, beachscapes and plants, living on a particularly beautiful part of the UK coastline. Having 'drifted away' from serious photography since I did T189, I'm now aiming to use my new/old equipment to rediscover the excitement.
