Laura's windows and roof by artsygang

Laura's windows and roof

Here are four of my attempts at this gorgeous facade https://365project.org/ljmanning/etcetera/2021-12-14
The top two are done first in ink (the lines) and then the watercolour.
The bottom two are done first colour splashes and then inking.
The first on the left seems the most "me" and the most complete. The second (right) lacks some shading, but it does have some highlights. I like the combination of ink and watercolour in rendering the brickwork. I also looooove the granular colour in the roof. In the third (bottom left) i love how the roof ink lines turned out - really sketchy and somehow spontaneous. And in the fourth I really ike how the bricks show up and also the roof ink lines. So, There's something in each of them that I like.

@ljmanning Laura, thank you very much for allowing us to paint from your photo. I really enjoyed this exercise. In the description, there are the notes I added next to my drawings.

@monikozi So interesting to see the different results from the different processes. Anyone of these would be good for me to have finished but I like the way you have combined the best of all in your final result.

I can't choose between them but I do love the roof of number 4. You are so clever to paint in different styles. Fav!

Thank you very much for the support. It is really interesting how they turn out, depending on the approach. And it is equally impressive how each viewer has another perception of all of them.
