Last evening I had my second Zoom art class, learning blending and layering with polychromic crayons. We had an image by Lorenzo Mattotti to copy.
Bottom left is my image from last night and this morning, about 6 hours of drawing and colouring in (3 in the sunshine in the garden!). I Whatsapped it to the teacher, who recognised I'd used smooth card, not cartridge paper, as she'd suggested. So I got some printer paper from His study and the one in the right was done and dusted in 2.5 hours, with my own changes and embellishments.
Mattotti's work is wierd, but will certainly appeal to some Artsy Gang members.
I like the one on the bottom left best because of the flower shape and length. I like that it appears the man is blowing up a balloon that turns out to be flower-like.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Woooow!!!! I should try this. I am so fascinated and scared by coured pencils, and i mean by layering.
What does polychrome crayons mean? Coloured pencils? Pastels? Oil pastels?
I think you did very well in both. The reproduction is quite goid. But I definitely love the one on the right - your version.
@kjarn thank you kaghy, I'm loving my Zoom art course, brilliant teacher and being introduced to styles I didn't know existed!!
@monikozi I'd never heard of them, but popped into the hobby shop and they were in stock, so splurged out!! The course is free - so why not?!!! So much nicer to use than children's colouring pencils. And more transportable than paints

@salza thank you Sally
@summerfield I couldn't stop the flower looking so phallic, more I corrected, more it looked 'wrong'n
@randystreat it's a trumpet I believe, also mord time spent on it!! Thank you
@kjarn I don't think so, but thank you
@grammyn his stuff is most fantasy weird
