Hydrangea

While waiting for spring one must enjoy the reminiscence of last summer...

This is one of the Hydrangeas in our garden (or Hortensia as they are mostly called here in Denmark). I have a huge sweet spot in my heart for Hydrangeas... they always remind me of my Grandparents garden, where this enormous blue Hydrangea grew just to the right when you entered the garden... it always carried lots and lots of flowers and I've spent hours looking at them when I was a child, so I was thrilled to find Hydrangeas in the garden, when we purchased our house. None of them are blue though (aluminum must be present in the soil for the plants to carry blue flowers), but pink Hydrangeas are just as pretty - and at this time of year I'll gladly settle for "orange" Hydrangeas :-).

Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + Olympus MMF-3 Four Thirds adapter + Olympus Zuiko f3.5/35mm Macro.

They're called Hortensia in France too and we have some pink ones too. This floret, having its final fling, is delightful.
