What once was

Took a detour on my way home from work today - and stumbled upon this old abandoned house on the outskirts of town… I have always been drawn to these kinds of places… I quess it triggers my imagination and the philosophical part of my soul… It feels almost like stepping into another dimention in time... I can almost hear the sounds from the people who once lived there... I can sort of see what the building looked like before it ended up in this ragged state... and I can't help thinking about the lives that once was lived here... were they happy... were they sad.... I hope that the people who turned this house into a home were happy here - the woman who picked out these mint green coloured curtains for the kitchen window - the children who played in the yard with the now almost rotted away leather ball - and the man who left behind all the masonry tools in the shed...

I know for sure that I will be making many more photo trips back to this place...

Fav. This image definitely evokes all the thoughts and feelins you mentioned. My grandparents had an old farm. My uncle, the last living occupant, pased away last week. Sad to see house empty.
