Earlier this morning it started snowing quite heavily, so I grabbed my camera bag, threw it in the car and headed up north to the forest close to where I work… I thought I would be the only one out in this weather, but I came across these three determined guys...
Those of you who are not familiar with Denmark and Danish culture probably don't know that Denmark holds the second place as the country with most bikes per capita (Netherlands holds first place), and it's said that we have the most bicycle-friendly infrastructure in the world... Everybody here owns a bike (I honestly don't know a single Dane who does not own a bike). Children here learn to ride a bike around the age of 3-4 years (some even earlier). And even our Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik travel around Copenhagen by bike - every now and then foreign media brings a photo of them taking their kids to school/kindergarten by bike ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3427493/Crown-Princess-Mary-braves-snow-cycle-children-school-bitterly-cold-Copenhagen.html ).
So - bikes are definately a huge thing here... but to be honest I don't think that I would ever think to bring mine out for a trip during weather like this :-)...
