Petrichor by atchoo

Petrichor

Took this shot out of my window at work before going home in the afternoon - it's been raining heavily today, and for a brief moment I opened the window and let in the rain.

I just love the scent of wet soil, wet grass and wet asphalt filling the air after a shower of warm summer rain like this.

P.S.
Petrichor is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Greek πέτρα petra, meaning "stone", and ἰχώρ īchōr, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology.

Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + M42 to micro 4/3 Adapter + Jupiter-9 f2/85mm.
Wonderful shot. Great focus and colour.
