... homegrown watermelon + a bit of cooling summer rain :-D.
As an experiment my husband have been growing a couple of watermelons in our green house… so far it's been a bit of a challenge, but he has managed to grow two big watermelons. We have never tried to grow watermelons before, so we are a bit unsure about the right time for picking, they are both about the size of a football, and they sound just right, when you knock gently on them. Well - there's only one way to tell... and that is to pick one... I almost can't wait to taste it since my favorite summer fruit is watermelon...
Update:
The watermelon was just about ripe... it tasted great - but it wouldn't hurt if it had the chance to ripen a bit more, so we will wait a week or two before we pick the second one :-)...
