Today I finished our homemade honey hearts. They are a Danish Christmas tradition, and it really isn't Christmas without these cakes :-).
The honey heart is a traditional spicy Christmas cake covered in dark chocolate and decorated with icing or coloured sugar sprinkles. The cakes require a bit of planning, since the pre dough is made in advance and rests in a cool place for about a month, but apart from that they really are pretty easy to make - and they do taste like Christmas...
