Today is day two of my two-day baking class at Aurion (see yesterday's shot for more info) - I'm having a great time learning lots of awesome and nerdy stuff about baking bread :-).
Today's shot is a quick one taken of the bannetons we have been using today for rising our sourdoughs.
Bannetons are wicker rising baskets, and they are used for rising/resting doughs with a high level of moisture (high moisture is desirable since it makes the baked bread more moist and delicious). The basket prevents sideways spread of the wet dough, and it also creates a beautiful pattern on the dough and on the baked bread.
Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + M42 to micro 4/3 Adapter + Pentaflex Auto Color f1.8/50mm.
Never heard of a banneton before - cool subject matter.
