What can I say, this was a practice shot and I enjoyed the process so much that I plan to do more in the distant future. I love the illusion of spheres floating in mid air
@tammy73 Thanks Tammy @seanoneill Thanks Sean, I would like to say 'trade secret', but it's not really. The image is of oil on water, lit from underneath, photographed from above.
@aurorajane Cheers, that is good, and I have just bought myself a manfrotto that allows me to shoot from above....He has got some great tutorials, I like his small people one.
@nataliestrawberry@edie@ladyjane Hi all, I am very appreciative for your comments of admiration. This was a lot of fun to do and didn't take hours and hours which added to the enjoyment. The colours are thanks to the booklet in a Coldplay CD. On reflection the vessel I used is not the best, must get a new one and next time I wont stir up the oil as much. Again your comments are so valuable to me as they continue to keep me motivated to improve. I wish you all a great day and happy shooting, Cheers :)
@paige3@humphreyhippo@buttercup@eyeseeu@maggiemae@dishaparekh176 Wow guys I am really flattered by the interest this image has created. I do plan on having another attempt at it someday and hopefully eliminate some of the artifacts/noise. Again, Thanks a bunch :)
Instant fav and thanks for sharing the process. That is fascinating and I bet you had fun playing with it. Did you use food coloring or just light? Gorgeous.
OMG, Ive just realised it has made the 'recently most popular' page, I am currently doing a dance around the loungeroom, whoop whooping at the top of my voice and to be honest, looking like a goose (but worth it)......

Gee Whiz everyone, thank you for your comments, and ..... Cathy and anyone else, your all more than welcome to pop over :) Might be a bit of a hike though.... (mid way between Canberra & Sydney Australia). I wish you all the best and can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Cheers :)
Hey there everyone, I am stoked at the response this image has created. It was a great process and one I will revisit. Cathy you mentioned food colouring.... well the answer is no, all colours were created by the background image.
So, to all you wonderful people I send you my thoughts and best wishes and many 'thank-yous' for all your support :)
