A colleague and I went to Kalvøya ('Calf Island') today. We went very early, so as to have the place fairly to ourselves, and take advantage of the morning light. We did indeed take some pictures, but this island isn't terrible rich in adventure, even if it's beautiful, unless you count the nudists, so when people started arriving, we decided to go to the river town Drammen, a few miles down the road.
Drammen is actually two towns on opposite sides of the river; Drammen proper and Bragernes; that have sort of grown together. They've put a lot of effort into cleaning up the riverside. There are bridges galore and a lot of weird and interesting art. For example, the two giant metal ball speakers that sit opposite each other on the riverbanks. They are huge, very reflective, and play ambient music for passers by.
I took a lot of pictures today that I was pleased with. ;-)
@tandem02 Thank you! I've seen your crystal ball pictures; I think they're really fun! @lanir Thank you! You're right; it really looks than way. I was really impressed with this installation; it's really large; almost 2 meters high. And it made a most satisfying *gong!* sound when I knocked on it... ;-D @godders Thanks! @jackie8@cheribug Thank you so much!
Well, you should be well pleased with yourself on this shot. You have outdone yourself!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta FAV and congrats on the PP. How lucky to have such a crisp clear blue day to shoot.
@smallenburg You are right; it could look that way; but Drammen county has chosen Norwegian sculptors for all the installations along the river, apart from one, as far as I know. I didn't get to see but a few... But this was definitely my favourite.
@lyno Thank you! I got to stay there for 2 whole days! ;-D That was great fun. @grannysue Thank you so much for both you nice comment and for your fav! ;-)
@miley89 Thanks, Miley! ;-) @sailingmusic Thank you, Myrna! I got a bit of a third day, too. Great fun! ;-p @if1 Thank you, Ian! I'm personally very pleased with the amazing effect. ;-)
