The Great Performer Bows Elegantly Before His Audience...

My mom had never visited the new Oslo Opera in Bjørvika in Oslo. I took her there today, as they had 'open house day'. Of course we went up on the roof to enjoy the view.

The seagulls around the Opera are getting very used to people and come very close. This one took little dancing steps backwards - until it fell off the roof. Not kidding, I swear!

And thanks, re the first comment, I just need less time on here!

@lorraineb ;-p You need to feed the link to a RSS reader; it won't work in a web browser... On Mac I use NetNewsWire.

@lorraineb Cool! I've found that with NNW open in the background, right-clicking on the RRS-link in Safari and choosing copy pretty much does the work for you.

grand shot! I love the way that forward little webbed foot is so delicately displayed in what I think has to be a curtsey!
posted August 26th, 2012
@lyno Thanks, Lyn! ;-) It certainly looks like that, doesn't it? It reminded me of those old court dance curtsies...

WOW. . .btw: thank you SO MUCH for the very clear instructions on the RSS feed idea. Brilliant and I have DONE it!

Northy, I never even thought about the crane stance, but you're absolutely right. That's so funny! Thanks for pointing that out to me. ;-)

beautiful detail in this shot.....great clarity.....and i love the story!.....so funny. We have TONS of seagulls here in Seattle, especially in the summer when the tourists arrive and leave their trash behind.

@sticksandstones Thank you! ;-) I think this one was getting a bit too used to people; it came back again and again, landing near groups of people, obviously trying to get food. Here in Oslo, we have more of a problem with gulls, crows and magpies emptying trash cans in search for food.
