Impressions Of Riga X

I haven't been posting for a while because I've been sick. Plus, I've been having trouble uploading; the upload tool on 365 stalls, and now I've discovered that my e-mail provider has implemented a size limit on attachments... The fun of it...

This is from inside the Sv. Pētera Baznīca ('St. Peter's Church') in Skārnu Iela. (Well not actually in that street, but in a square you get to in that street.) It's a famous church; mostly for its leaning bell tower. Something about the wooden construction of the tower makes it twist and lean over a bit. The church burned down in a fire some time back, and has been rebuilt, and the bell tower was reconstructed with that weird twist.

In the square outside, at he back of the church, was a small souvenirs market, where you could buy those 'Russian' babushka dolls.

I'm going for a trip this weekend, so it'll be quiet here for a few days, again... ;-p
Lovely building, nicely shot with near-fisheye ... and of course great in b&w!

Thanks! ;-) The church is really beautiful, but as it has been rebuilt, you don't really get that agey feel when you're inside. Which is part of the reason I went with b&w here. The view from the bell tower is spectacular.

I'm planning/lining up a 'Colours of Riga' series to follow this one...
