My niece B. got her D. in Näshulta Kyrke ('Näshulta Church'), a beautiful church from 1678 (http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Näshulta_kyrka). The clock tower is quite remarkable, built on a small hillock beside the church in 1789.
Compared to a Norwegian wedding ceremony, the Swedish ceremony is far more intimate and stripped of impersonal religious overtones. Not completely, but far more enjoyable.
The priest asked us not to disturb the ceremony taking pictures, but to leave it to the official photographer. She did something very smart I've not seen at a wedding before; she left her shoes off, so she could move around, making hardly any sound at all. Clever, that.
Instead of throwing the traditional rice, we all got issued with small plastic bottles with soapy water, so we could blow soap bubbles as the newly married couple emerged from the church door.
Thank you, guys! :-) The bride liked it, too. :-) It wasn't the picture with the most bubbles, but it was the sweetest...
I love the bubbles too. Beautiful shot.
Thank you, guys! Also on behalf of the happy couple! :-)
