LowBoy 2.0

A couple of weeks ago I made myself a short, super-mini "tripod", which consisted of a home made oak base, a cheap mini ball head, and a quick release clamp.

It was OK for a little LED light panel, but when I tried to put my DSLR in it, it's little ball head sagged under the weight.

Yesterday the mailman delivered, and I installed, a much better ball head. You can see it's much beefier than the old one Grey Man is sitting on, and it doesn't make the whole assembly too much taller. It supports my DSLR and lens without any problems. In this photo my RGB LED mini light panel in mounted in the quick release clamp.
I love how creative you are with figuring out fixes. Grey Man looks impressed too!
