I found an un-used bendy plastic stand made to hold a bar code scanner. I took it apart and found inside of it was a nice metal bendy goose neck, with 1/4" threads on the ends, which match a the screw mounts on a tripod.
I threw a spare Arca-Swiss compatible quick release clamp on top of it, and now I've got another desktop mounting option for LED lights or cameras.
