Yesterday's photo was a pile of clamps and bricks and stuff, which was holding this "Rustic" flag together while glue dried.
I wanted a rough texture, so I bought the cheapest wood they had at Home Depot, but it also ended up being really warped wood, and it shows in the final produce.
This was a very cheap project, the wood cost me $4.50, I used red acrylic craft paint, which costs a $1, and the field where the stars should be has just been hit with a propane torch to darken it.
The wood stripes are about 3/4" thick, and they're attached to a sheet of 1/4" MDF, which I already had a piece of in my scrap pile. That turned out to be a poor choice. Next time, I'll use 1/2" plywood as a backer, and thinner wood for the flag.
Oh well, you learn on the first one, the next will be better.
Oh yeah, and it weighs a god damn ton too. I'm not sure how/where I'm going to hang it yet...
