also known as our personal victory!
this hike was 8.4 miles round trip, gained 2400 ft of altitude, and was the most difficult rated we attempted. the final part was above the tree-line, so we also had to be wary of lightning from afternoon storms. this beautiful view of chasm lake at the base of long's peak was our reward for all our hard work (which incidentally took just over 5 hours--less than the guidebook's estimate!) we were proud of us!!
Holy Moly! You must be in great shape to have done all that hiking. I can see it was totally worth it. This scene is intense and impressive. I love the reflections in the water an dthe deep blue sky. Good for you!
