heart-breaking night for my nephew. tonight was the BIG game--huge rivalry, traveling trophy on the line, lots to prove. and after the last two seasons sitting on the sidelines due to injuries and surgeries, he was READY. then during warm-up he went up to catch a pass and came down wrong on his ankle. after an exam from the team doc, it was determined that he had a possible fracture and could not play. utter disappointment.
i'm also more than a little disappointed in this photo--all i had was my iphone to capture the moment. i do not know how everyone else gets such fabulous iphone shots. mine--not so fabulous!!
ps. crusaders WON!
*update: despite the swelling and bruising, 2 x-rays confirmed that it is NOT broken! he will miss the game this week, but then should be cleared to play!
Well glad to hear his ankle is not broken... it must have been hard for him to sit that game out, hope he gets better soon and back on the field.. great photo btw
Oh, that sucks. Make sure he gets good physical therapy (speaking from ankle-injury experience) it will mean the world between getting back sooner or later. I think this photo turned out great! Very thoughtful and I sense the feeling for sure.
Glad it turned out better than expected! I have been there many times in the past when both kids were playing sports...my heart just breaks for them, because you know how badly they want to be in there helping their team! Iphone or not...you captured it well! By the way...no soccer pics from me because my sons games were cancelled last weekend...BOO! This soccer mom was a bit disappointed :(
@joannemed i think there is an app (or apps) that have some type of flash. i haven't taken much time to figure out how to take a good shot with it, so i guess i shouldn't complain! (: but some folks have such clear, crisp shots with theirs!!
