This gentleman works at the Fujisan Hotel which is located at the 8th station of Mt.Fuji. ( Not that opulent) The lodge is situated 3,400m above sea level which is called ‘Munatuki Hattyo’ of steep place, and it is the final great obstacle point to the summit. Three different mountain lodges, which used to be located at this location have been merged into one and Fujisan Hotel was built in the Meiji 40. As the governor of Yamanashi prefecture started promoting and internationalizing Mt.Fuji, the bed room was reformed into the double bunk bed (12 to a bunk) and curry and rice started to be provided for foreign tourists for dinner. This has now become the current main stream of the mountain lodges of Mt.Fuji. Fujisan Hotel is situated at ‘Oikiai', which is the junction of Yoshida Trail, Subashiri Trail, the trail of climbing down the mountain, so it can be very crowded with people throughout the day and night.
