Sunrise at Mt. Fuji, 3776 metres and bitterly cold even although it was right in the heart of summer. A golden glow breaks the horizon just before 5 o'clock and you see the sun not long after that.
The irony of the day this photo was taken is just under 3 hours later and approx. 500 kilometres away in Hiroshima the commemoration of the anniversary of the dropping of the A-Bomb was to commence. This was not lost on the thousand of Japanese that shared this view with us.
Fav.....stunning shot Brian.... funny how nature works, think it is to remind us when we have beauty like this, why do we try to destroy it and those in it....
Fav, Brian - just spectacular view and colors! I'm sure the people who lived here on Aug. 6,1945 felt the effects of the bomb as well - probably developed leukemia later on (or "atom bomb disease" as they called it.).
This is one of those, "once in a lifetime" views! Amazing color! It almost looks like it was shot out of an airplane window. Phenomenal capture Brian! Fav!
