This is the wreath I made at a workshop yesterday. It has to lay flat until the plants root into the sphagnum form. Some of the plants are held onto the sides of the wreath with topiary pins, while those on the top are poked into holes made with a skewer. There are just so many different kinds of succulents that you can play with texture, form and color and have a good time doing it.
@lindag They will live indefinitely but they are not hardy so the wreath will have to come in for the winter. Apparently the only maintenance is the occasional watering and a bit of pinching to keep it neat.
I have never seen anything like this before - I love succulents and they seem to do quite well in my garden. It's great that this beautiful wreath you have made will last.
Wow, wish they would have this kind of workshop around me. I would have loved to make one of these. You did a grand job on your project and have captured a lovely shot of it.
I've never seen succulents used in a wreath but when you think about it, they don't need much water and will probably last for ages! Great craft, Roberta!
