We were on our way home today but a truck rollover on the Mingela Range had the highway closed for 15 hours. It took us 1 1/2 hours to travel about 5 kilometres once half of the highway opened.
I am cringing reading this Sheralee. I was moaning about driving the 3 hours home this morning from Torquay - such a boring road - but at least we were moving and could stop for a relaxing take away coffee. What a nightmare! Fabulous clouds in this photo - almost 3D
Oh no how frustrating and horrific! Good to hear you are home safely. Nice perspective on this shot! (It looks so nice and green for "Brownsville" territory after a big wet season) :)
@bobfoto It was Jason, the news we got was that all 5 passengers in the car were in a satisfactory condition in hospital, so I hope that is right. They said the mum had a suspected broken leg but the children were ok.
@cocorose Bec, it has been green like this for so long now but this really is unusual for to see the range so green, it's normally just brown dirt.
@murnane Thanks Marg, it was a pretty slow process. I kept wanting to get out and take photos of insects and things but I thought if I get out we will have to move again. It's always the way, missed opportunities :)
I came up on a terrible accident like this right as it happened once. There was a tanker that lost control and hit a family who was changing a tire. They'd left their baby strapped into the seat and the car exploded. I was like the 3rd car there-- it was terrible... Man I'm a downer today...
Being stuck on the side of the road is never much fun but thankfully it sounds like all the people involved in accident were all going to be OK. You have captured the moment well the colour of the sky and the clouds certainly enhance the shot.

@chel They were nice fluffy clouds :)
