This is one of the butterflies I've been chasing in my garden. I didn't get a really clear shot of her so I decided I would have a bit of fun in photoshop.
She is a Northern or Scarlet Jezebel (Delias argenthona) - don't you just love that name!
It looks like one of those little Japanese detail hand paintings Sheralee. Just magnificent. What a stunning butterfly. Clever you using photoshop. I have only seen others do it.

Sometimes called Scarlet Jezebel, which I think is even better! Love these butterflies and your shot is great. They are so hard to get, these ones, as they flit around so fast and don't want to sit still for long.
Yes, that's how they actually look with those markings on them. I tried to leave the butterfly unedited but the vibrancy, colour and contrast is all up a bit.
