Blue Moon

Hypolimnas bolina (Varied eggfly, Common eggfly, Blue moon)
I think blue moon is a lovely name. I will probably only see one of these every blue moon ;-) This girl has been knocked around a bit but still beautiful. The colour was really refracting in the afternoon sun and giving a lovely purple/blue tinge to the wings.

You have such a variety of butterflies down there! Unfortunately where i am it seems the butterfly numbers are dwindling every year. Barely saw one monarch last year.
