If at first you don't succeed...

Back out to the weir today with a much cleaner filter and a lighter lens. I think my big lens is just too heavy for the long exposures on my flimsy tripod. I was pretty happy with this one and I got a couple of others that I like too. I will be going back again to have another try. Feel free to critique.

Thanks for stopping by to look or have a chat :)
Fab work, the flow looks very smooth :)

nice work. a little hooked on long exposures at the moment. I like this one.

@brav I can see myself getting a little carried away with them too :)

Awesome long exposure!

What a perfect spot to do long exposures. I would have cropped off the sky to give the illusion of there being more 'waterfall'. Beautiful smoothness in the water.

beautiful long exposure of the water!

Wow Sheralee this is fabulous, worth going back and retrying. I have an ND filter but not used it yet and after seeing this I am eager to try it out. Great Job!

Fabulous work. Well done.

That water is just so smooth - glorious and very well done. I also love the green splash in the foreground. The only thing that bothers me slightly is the concrete supports in the blown out sky - remove them? Or tighter crop? Just a thought.

fabulous shot sheralee. Love it. My eyes are distracted by the supports too.

Spectacular water shot, love the clarity of the foreground and the smoothness of the water cascade.

@nadines @happysnap @chezza Thanks for your suggestions, I don't know why I didn't see that! Sometimes it's hard to properly see my own shots. I've given it a crop in Picmonkey and I think it's a bit better?

This is a fabulous shot, love how you have captured the water.

love love love the effect. If you're playing around with cropping, you could try the right-hand third so there's mostly waterfall and rocks and grass. Either way, it's wonderful.

@twistergirl Thanks Doris! When I cropped it I also thought there was too much rock on the left and foreground. I think I will just go out and try again. Thanks for your comment, I always appreciate critiques.

Two things I was taught in my landscape course - never underestimate a good tripod and focus on the land unless the sky adds to the art. I would get closer to the water in this one keeping a few rocks in the foreground. The water looks amazing though on its own! :)

@russianblue Great tips Kass, I'll have to see what I come up with when I go back :) I see such beautiful long exposure shots from others.

Love it! Wonderful exposure on the water. I really like the balance between foreground and background interest.

@bella_ss Yeah I think it works much better without that gap of sky Sheralee.
