Okay hurry up, it's my turn

I've nicknamed my new lens the Bazooka! The Tamron 150-600mm is so heavy I need to brace one arm on my stomache to hold it... where there's a will, there's a way :) I'm really impressed with the sharpness of the lens. I was standing on my deck while the honeyeaters were having fun in the bird bath.

Six word story
Super details. Love the water splash!

Excellent shot. Love how his friend is waiting patiently for his turn. good luck with the new lens, my neck couldn't cope with a heavy lens.
October 14th, 2014
Mine is only a 70-300 and seems to weight a ton. I brought a monopod to use with it sometimes.
October 14th, 2014

October 14th, 2014
So lovely and sharp. Great shot!
October 14th, 2014
you hand hold a 600mm zoom lens?! HOW!? I had heard that 300 mm and up was in need of a tripod for stability. This is so cool...full of action! Fav
October 14th, 2014
What a delightful capture!
October 14th, 2014
WOW! That is amazing! Fantastic capture!

Cat
Awesome capture, what perfect timing and accuracy. Fav.
October 14th, 2014
@espyetta Thanks MaryBeth, I don't know how long I can do it for though! It really is a beast and a monopod would probably be good, I am a bit shaky, just lucky I could use a high shutter speed (1/1000sec).

@joansmor the monopod might be next on my list Joan.

@onewing the things we put ourselves through Babs, I have to use it while I'm able ;-)
October 14th, 2014
@psychographer Thanks Lisa! So nice to see you back again!
October 14th, 2014
@terryliv I had it at 600mm Poppo but needed to back off to get them both in the frame!

@rosiekind Glad to see I'm not the only one to name my lens :)

@westerly45 Not at Susan, it does get you up close to the wildlife though.

October 14th, 2014
Beautiful pic. I am your get pushed partner this week and my challenge to you is to take an image with movement as the main focus. I am away but if you give me a challenge I shall try :)
October 14th, 2014
@lorrainelouise Hi Lorraine, thanks for the challenge, I gave you yours a couple of days ago :)
October 14th, 2014
@gigiflower No need to be jealous, you too can have one Sammi :D

@paulaw Thanks for coming back to comment Paula, I find I miss reciprocating if there is no comment but I know it's all a matter of having the time :)

October 14th, 2014
I keep missing your pics - no time for 365. What a wonderful capture! And wow - what a lens. I need to get a longer lens - my 200 is just not enough reach but I don't want to add too much weight since it would be in my backpack when we hike. Decisions, decisions!
October 14th, 2014
Great shot Sheralee.I missed this one as i go back a thru the uploads i musn,t have gone far enough. Its taking a bit of keeping up with what with the other dash that i,m doing with paid critique (
portraits).I,ll be glad to see the end of the month.
October 15th, 2014
@kass That's the trouble Kass, I'm not sure I could carry this in a backpack for too long. I know, I keep missing yours too!
October 15th, 2014
@peterlgrave What is the other site you are on Peter, if you don't mind me asking? Do they critique your photos for you and are you happy with it?
October 15th, 2014
@bella_ss Dash- Insider Sheralee. If you want your photos critiqued by a professional for the month it costs about $80 Plus the $25 for the subject you are doing.I wish that i hadn,t done portrats this month as its too hard to get models and i don,t have the studio equipment required for some of the shots.October dash was a choice of portraits, flowers or trick photography.
October 15th, 2014
@peterlgrave It sounds really interesting... I'll have to check it out :)
October 15th, 2014
Sorry Sheralee Digital photo secrets is the site. They tell you what they want you to photograph each week. You get 2 projects a week with 3 levels to choose from.ie begginer, intermediate ,advanced,.
October 15th, 2014
@peterlgrave Wow, I can see why that along with 365 is keeping you hopping Peter. The critiques must be good to get though.
October 15th, 2014
Superb. Fav.

October 16th, 2014
