Museum gets a facelift

I kind of like the look of it just like this. The paint has all been scraped back ready for the new paint job.
I like it like that too! The old textured look is one of my favourites.

What a lovely building. It will look super when it has a facelift. You will have to do an "after" photo too.

It has a fine patina of age!

I like the gritty look to this. I've never seen a single story tower before. :-)

@bill_fe hehe, there's only half of the sign there Bill, the town is Charters Towers as you probably realised :)

@onewing @tabarlett it's been like this for about a month so it seems they're not in a hurry to do it but I will post a shot when they're done.

Yes, it has a certain appeal. I told my husband today photographers LOVE peeling paint and weathering!

An old building full of charachter
March 27th, 2015
I thought at first it was abandoned (a current fascination of mine), but it just has some of those qualities that abandoned places have.

Pam
Wonderful old building!

I agree with you - the natural stone colour, if left to its own gets such a beautiful hue. The architecture is gorgeous and your capture gives it honour.

Great shot. I like its current appearance too.

Nice capture Sheralee.I looked at it the other day and wondered when they were going to paint it.
March 30th, 2015
Great looking old building Sheralee. I presume it was originally a pub?
March 30th, 2015
@terryliv Surprisingly it wasn't Poppo, it was originally built by Burns Philp & Co in 1891 and later became a grocery store. A pub was a good guess though since the town did have around 50 hotels in it's heyday.
