Hello Possum by bella_ss

Hello Possum

I had given up on getting an action shot for ONS today when I heard a noise outside the office window. This little fellow was making his nightly run from his house in the tamarind tree across the roof and down this tree fern for a drink from a water fountain in the garden. I know it's barely an action shot but he was on his way back up the tree when I shot this. Have to take what action we can get on a Friday night, especially when it's a one night stand!!

Your possum's are much cuter then ours. Great capture! I love his ears.

I'm going to steal your quote: "Photography is a love affair with life." It is so completely true for me. Thanks.

Such a wonderful capture!

Awe :) Such a cutie. I think possums are wonderful creatures, but this sentiment is not shared by many. A local woman has been harvesting for pelts...I nearly cried when I found out.

@aurorajane @aurorajane This little rascal and it's mum has stripped my mango tree of every mango (there weren't many) but when I realised over a few days they ate every last piece of the mango I didn't mind so much. At least they aren't wasters like the darn flying foxes. It is a shame about the woman harvesting but I know they must be pests for some people. We don't mind and think they're rather cute too

So cute!

@aurorajane oops sorry for tagging you twice. I meant we don't mind the possums (not that the woman is harvesting them).

Nice capture Sheralee. They aren,t much fun if you have an iron roof and they run around on it at night !!
November 23rd, 2014
@peterlgrave We do have an iron roof but they don't seem to make noise too often, when they are loud it sounds like elephants running around up there!

@bella_ss When i was still going to school our neighbour (dairy farmer) had heaps of them tearing across his roof each night (.No sleep) so he takes shotgun to bed and when possums started he lined up and blew a hole through the ceiling & roof.he never got the possum !!!
November 23rd, 2014
@peterlgrave oh no, looks like possums 1, farmer none!
November 23rd, 2014
Great capture, and he even looks as though he's posing for you. Did you use selective coloring for his nose and ears? It looks really nice.

@skstein thanks Sandy, I think what happened is the torch my husband was holding gave a warm colour cast to the front of him. I didn't change any colours :)
