Winter

Another sweet little one that has kept me away from 365. I have been playing with newborn photography. My problem is I spend a zillion hours processing the photos. It's such a good feeling when you get a nice shot though.

I'm counting down to my trip, just 12 days before I leave... so excited!

Just perfect. I'm going to photo my sister newborn this summer. Any pointers? Did you use a flash?

@amandal Thanks Amanda! I did use the flash in a softbox on one side and window light on the other just as a fill. The main tip I have been given with the lighting, whether natural or flash is to feather it down the baby so that they have the shadow under the nose. Apparently it's better than light straight on their face which can be a bit flat.

@bella_ss I wish I knew lighting better than almost not at all. I still need an external flash. Don't have a softbox. We'll give it a shot.

@amandal You don't need flash just some nice window light and maybe a reflector on the other side. Kelly Brown uses mostly natural light in her studio. She's my newborn hero ;) http://www.littlepiecesphotography.com.au/
