Pestle, mortar and chia by bella_ss

Pestle, mortar and chia

and a dash of ETSOOI. I made pikelets today using Kass' flour-free recipe which called for ground chia seeds. I used this cute little pestle and mortar that I bought in Montreal. I tried to shoot high key for my Get Pushed challenge from Tineke @tstb. Do you think this passes for high key?
How did they turn out? Sounds like an interesting recipe. Great shot by the way.

Great processing!

@nicolecampbell I really liked them other than the peanut butter. It was 1 banana, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbspn ground chia, 1 tbspn peanut butter. You know how the Canadians and Americans are about their peanut butter, lol. Next time I would leave it out. My daughter has coeliac disease and I also avoid gluten so I was keen to try it.

@kass This is the result from my pikelets today :) I will definitely cook them again sans peanut butter. We have bananas growing so it's always great to find something different to do with them.

Awesome shot

So glad you liked the recipe (without the pb)! ;) I always use almond butter and double the batch. Then freeze them and just pop them in the toaster for a future breakfast. ;)

Great processing - it looks so like an illustration for a glossy magazine. (Pikelets are an old favorite of mine - I use granny's recipe with golden syrup.)

I like this pic! I like the way you composed it and the high-key brightness of it as well as the processing and texturing used. Fav for me.

This is very well done. I'm going to try the recipe too! Mostly I like to use almond flour but it very expensive!

@tstb I forgot to tag you Tineke. This is my first try, I'm not sure if it qualifies but it was shot as high key :)
July 22nd, 2014
I'd say it's a great high key shot! Great job!

I like the ETSOOI treatment!

@nicolecampbell @westerly45 @swilde @kass Have any of you tried banana ice-cream, I made some for the grandkids today (they love it) it's just sliced banana frozen and then blended. You can also add some flavours.

@snaphappi We always ate them with golden syrup as kids. I really should buy some again.
