The long and dusty road

Still processing photos from my trip out west. Dinosaur bones and footprints have been discovered in this area and this is taken from near one of the sites.
Cool shot, looks very long and dusty!

Great landscape. My youngest would be excited by the dinosaur footprints. She just loves anything dinosaur.

@karlow75 They are quite a sight, you can see the prints of a stampede where little ones were chased by a large one... possibly preserved forever now.

@terryliv The two sights that I've been to are near Winton Poppo. This particular one is only half hour out. The one with the stampede is a couple of hours west.

Fantastic shot. Got to be a fav. Love the vastness of our countryside. Is that a car in the distance with a dust trail behind it.

I love this part of Australia the best. Many years ago I worked on a station near Hugheden and I remember the young cowboy who worked at the same place showing me a fabulous rock fossil he had found of what looked like a pterodactyl to me (I was no expert) - it was a bird with teeth about 40 - 60 cm beak to tail - I tried to persuade the boy to take it to a museum but he was having none of that he kept it wrapped in a blanket and later managed to break it in half while trying to chip the rock into a nice square block shape! I have always wondered what happened to that fossil. Your shot has brought back these memories and more for me. Thank you.
