Yesterday the Queen's Baton Relay came through town. While I think it's great that we welcome these things and come out to watch I don't think the struggling businesses in town needed the street closed for 3 hours prior to the procession. The bullet-proof vests and number of police officers that escorted the baton was very much OTT, especially in this sleepy little country town.
