Rain in Maine

It's a cool and quiet rainy day in Machiasport. We've been out to the grocery shop and Helen's, our favorite place for lunch or anytime. While we were sitting at the counter(it was packed so we opted to sit there rather than wait for a table) I spied a display of flavored syrups on a rack. The only flavor label we could see was Wild Raspberry, our little golden girl was telling us she will always be with us.

We're together, comforting each other in the only other house Raspberry knew and loved, one we love as much as our Dogcorner Cottage. It's absolutely quiet, low tide with the gift of a drenched, but majestic Bald Eagle resting on the top of the tamarack tree below us down the hill towards the shore.

For the Record,
This day came in cold and rainy. The first time we have needed sweaters in the house in years. I'm cuddled in my sweater from Ireland, purchased on Innishmore Island.

Did you get some pie at Helen's. It was a very mixed weekend. Think you got more rain then me. I was on my deck getting ready to change the water in my bird bath then what flew up to my hummingbird feeder but a ruby throated hummingbird. I stood and stared in amazement. Of course didn't even have my cell phone. BUt I think of your luck with wild life at your cottage and am encouraged.

@joansmor We had delicious strawberry rhubarb pie. Our thrill today was the wet bald eagle perched down the hill near he river on the top of a tamarack tree just below us. We see lovely birds here at this old house that was my great grandparents’ home.
