The Lawn Treatment Service by beryl

The Lawn Treatment Service

As I mentioned yesterday --I was waiting for the Green thumb to treat my lawns ! Since I have become unable to regularly treat and look after my lawns I have had Green Thumb to do the basic 4 treatment per annum - Spring feed and weed , Early summer feed -Late summer feed , and the autumn/winter feed and moss killer ! There are other specialised treatment individually priced but as we have a lawn scarifier --Gary does that for me ! Sandra was rather shy in having her photo taken doing her work - but when I explained why I wanted this she showed interest as she also likes photography !
Paula, @paulaw -this is especially for you !!
This also is for the word of the day GRASS !
Super series of shots and so interesting

I like the way your collage tells the story Beryl. My method has been to replace the nice neat lawn with a small meadow! Looks awful in winter but in spring it comes alive!

Four lovely shots Beryl, I am a big Gardener and used to show my Garden, and won many times, but the main part was my Lawn, the Judges always used to ask me how I got my Lawn so neat and green, I always told them, lots of hard work, some think you just mow it. I have just done my first Cut of the year with my New ATCO mower and its a Dream Machine.

@tonygig Ooh I know from your comments anf the glorious view of your flowers -- that t you were a keen and a lover of your garden --I am afraid my garden is not what it used to be when my husband was alive - every lawn was wellstriped , -the edges always so neat and the scarifying and aerating was done manually .The garden was our joint hobby from the small veg plot , lawns 9which he had seeded from scratch when we came here in1981 Since Rod died I carried on and the garden really kept me going through my bereavement bit now through my disabilities and ill health I can not do what I would like to do but I am fortunate that Gary does all the mowing and the basic heavy stuff. A wonderful and healthy hobby Tony while we can do it !! Nice to have a chat Tony !

Great series of shots Beryl. It's a good idea to get someone in to sort out the lawn. You can then spend more time on your flowers.

Great photos and story to accompany
gardens can be very therapeutic - to look at, to look after and/or to photograph

Sandra and Green Thumb should be very pleased with your effective advert that goes worldwide.
March 14th, 2015
@bob65 I agree !! lol !! should ask for a discount -- but instead the treatment is going up next time ! I suppose I can not complain --it has been the same price for over 3 yrs !!

Our daughter had Green Thumb one year when their lawns were quite bad with weeds & moss, he did a wonderful job & Cathybwould like to have him every year but hubby says he can do it but it's not quite the same! So good that there are firms like this to take the basic lawn care ....you must miss your late husband , how long have you been a widow Beryl if you do t mind me asking? Harry is very fussy about his lawns & we have a lot of grass. He starts one & by the time he has got round them it's time almost to start again! It's the first thing he thought about when they said he had to have a new knee, who was going to mow the grass!
March 14th, 2015
@happypat --Bless him -- Harry's got a sit on mower hasn't !he. He should be ok with that just like going back to driving car after about 6 weeks if all goes well !!-- mind you 6 weeks is a long time in the growing season when the grass needs cutting at least once a week !
No I do not mind you asking Pat I lost Rod to Cancer in the summer of 1990 ! nearly 25 yrs ago -- it doesn't feel that long ago but I knew then that I couldn't share my life with anyone else --He was my soul mate as well as lover and husband and no one else could ever take his place As I could imagine you and Harry are everything to one another as well !
March 14th, 2015
@beryl ah Beryl that must have been so hard to lose him so young.....Cancer is a cruel cruel disease....good job you have your Gary to help out & be such good company. You Will have great memories to keep you going but still be lonely for so one of your own. Harry was my first proper boyfriend & we married very young as you did in those days but have been through hard times & latterly good times. I know I sound like I have everything going for me which I have now but have had difficult times in the past ...mother in law living with us for thirty years for a start...not easy! Hard times make you grow closer though! Hope you keep well this summer, the warmth of the sun will be good I expect! I love this site for the friendships that's why I keep going, it's not so much the photos though they are interesting. Take care Beryl. X
