Feverfew by beryl

Feverfew

Love the feverfew , such a bright and cheerful little plant whatever the weather , and we are having a very wet day today !!
The fever few is said to have medicinal powers - the leaves are a good cure for migraine headaches . Some herbalists suggest to make a bread and butter sandwich filled with some of the leaves -- I never tried it this way , but when younger I use to suffer migraine headaches and I would chew at a few leaves of the plant -- not to every one's taste as the leaves were very bitter !!

We have these in the garden too and my husband suffers from migraine . I've always wondered about trying them but he isn't a fan of chewing on green leafy things! Did you find they worked?

Nice shot.

It certainly relieved the pain whether it worked or you concentrated so much on the chewing of the bitter leaves that you were distracted from the pain !! @busylady @shesnapped

Lovely bright flowers Beryl on this interesting & useful plant. I do believe some of the old cures worked well but don't fancy those bitter leaves! When it cost good Monet to go & see a doctor you would try anything I expect!
