I found this lovely bush covered in seed heads in the Medical Centre's car park when I went for appointment with the GP this morning to discuss some of the tests results - things are complicated as I am on so many different medications + now diagnosed with thyroid problem - and have started on medication for this - it will take time to adjust to the correct dosage and I hope then I shall feel more " with it " !!
So lovely to still enjoy a beautiful Autumn !
This is an incredible climbing plant. Iāve never seen these incredible blooms on our clematis! Once your thyroid is under control you will feel so much better! Hope it doesnāt take long to settle on your correct dosage.
What a nice clematis!
Oh Beryl, thyroid problems are awful. My partners' thyroid in the end had to be 'killed'. He's now on Levothyroxine for life. When his thyroid was overactive, it took a long time to get the balance right, and after several weeks it would change again. Also the weight gain/weight loss, feeling so tired, restless. It's really not nice. I feel for you!
@overalvandaan Diolch yn fawr Saxa - I have just started on a low dosage of Levothyroxine to be reviewed and perhaps increase in a few months etc etc ! - the tiredness is so immense at the moment !
What a beauty this is! Never seen one like this. Once your doseage is sorted you will feel better. Iāve had an under active thyroid since I was 34 & I take 150g of thyroxine daily. Just be aware that the range of ā normalā is quite large & if you have a good doctor they will medicate to how you feel & not to a number that says itās in range. Because we donāt know at what level we used to run at when all was normal, itās trial and error to get it corrected to where we feel back to normal. Hope you feel better soon.
Wonderful capture and details and the seed heads are very pretty is this Old mans beard I wonder. I hope you will soon be feeling a lot better on your new medication Beryl.
What a fabulous plant. Hope it doesn't take too long to get your thyroid problems back on track. I had my thyroid removed about 20 years ago because I had 24 tumours on it and David had Graves disease so he had his zapped. we are both on thyroxine now.
@carole_sandford thanks Carol for your reassuring advice - it seems to echo the Dr's advice of putting me on a low dosage to start with and testing till we build up to the right dosage
@onewing -thanks Babs - I feel so out odf sort - lots of little twitches and NO energy - sleep seems to be the onlt thing I am good at at the moment !
@wendyfrost Thanks for that , I just couldn't remember the common name for the Wild clematis ( Old man's beard ) yesterday ! thanks for your good wishes
Beautiful capture and so well-focused. The first thing I do when I see something like this is to gather some seeds and try sowing them in seed pots. Very often I get negative results but when those that do start growing they give me lots of satisfaction.
Very photogenic old man's beard - I knew this name long before I knew its 'proper' name! Good luck getting the medical problem sorted - hope it will not take too long.
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel -- these med problems are a hinderance and I am not the most patient person - I want it sorted straight away !! The old man's beard had completely evaded me yesterday although like you it was the name I had always known it by !!
I hope you medication will help.

Beryl I do hope things settle for you soon, I have found getting older no fun whatsoever.
