Just call me " Calamity Jane "!! - my saga goes on . After been pleased and exited in having purchased a new washing machine I preceded to clear out the broom cupboard to the side of the washing machine in preparation for the new one and discovered that after all my washing machine was not leaking but the leak was in the joint where the machine pipe was attached to the water supply !! Annoyed and frustrated that I had not checked this I went on the phone to cancel the order - but then I had to go back to the store to be refunded ! Argh , aargh so annoyed at my own stupidity ! So now I have just booked my plumber to see to the leak ! -- and the pile of washing gets larger and larger !
I hope I haven't bored you - but I had to get it out of my system !!!!
I hope today will be better as I wait for my hairdresser to come in to trim my hair I always feel better when I have had my hair done !
I just hate it when that happens! I am glad though that they refunded your money without that crazy “re-stocking fee” so many places charge. I always laughed at mother, no matter how bad she felt, even if she had been sick in bed, she went to her hairdresser appointment. She always said “Lou Ann, the first thing people see when they look at you is your hair”. 😊
I get the frustration. I am so not a fix-it kind of person. No clue what's wrong most of the time, and machines of any sort (other than my camera, and sometimes even then) are well outside my comfort zone.
Lovely image. It could have been worse you could have ended up with two washing machines. Thank goodness you decided to clear out the broom cupboard. :)
A lovely image Beryl. It's good that your washing machine was actually broken. I'm sure you'll get through the washing pile in no time once the leak is fixed :)
Oh Beryl, I love this story....just the sort of thing could happen to anyone! If there’s water about round a washing machine of course it comes from the machine, it’s a definite as far as I’m concerned! Never mind, think of the money you saved although the plumber might be expensive too! I think I would rather have a new machine than pay someone to repair a water pipe! New machines are expensive so you must be saving some money thankfully! A hair cut is a real moral booster!
I see you have some lovely daffodils to cheer you up. I do feel for you though. With our new kitchen the only appliance which didn't need replacing was the washing machine. Then in the middle of the walls being knocked down the washer failed so we had to get a new one in the end anyway.
Lovely! We do not get daffodils in abundance until April. Oh dear...you are having a frustrating start to the year as well. I hope they make "braided metal mesh or fiberglass" hoses to attach to your washing machine there? Several years ago our rubber hose burst on the hot water of our washer machine! It flooded that level with 4" of hot water, peeled the paint off the walls and finish off the cabinets. Not fun at all. We now have the braided hoses on our toilets, under the sink plumbing and washing machine...anything with water.
@brennieb - ha ha - I shall need a week of good weather ( perhaps exaggerating a little !! ) Today my Dr's app was cancelled - rescheduled for Monday !! Shall be glad to see the end of this week !
But anyway you saved a lot of money; you could buy a lovely present for yourself...
