A little family of greenfinches visit daily for their morning feed . The female is not quite as colourful ! I have also a pair of goldfinches visiting daily but as I have hung the feeder of Niger seeds within the tree branches - it is difficult to photograph them ! - but it is lovely to see their flash of colour amongst the branches
His little feet are gripping on tight! Love the flash of yellow there...not a bird I see much round here fir some reason & we have no swallows round here this year sadly. Harry has seen some at our neighbours who has stables. We had so many rearing their young in the nests they returned to every year but now the buildings have been converted. Swallows are low in numbers though I believe this year but I miss their swirling & swooping.
@happypat I was only thinking Pat how our birds and migrants seem to have diminished , both the swallows and swifts were a regular visitors at one time but lately have dwindled - in fact the last few years I haven't seen either and also I haven't heard the cuckoo in the last few years since the new housing estate was built over the road . Of course with the constant building everywhere the bird's natural habitat is diminishing day by day ! With feeding in the garden it is marvellous to hear the constant twittering and bird song whenever I am outside !
I put up my feeder for the photographs but more I just plain love watching the birds flitting about. People are amazed at the different birds I get in my yard. Wonderful catch
