Twelve months ago , at the ripe old age of 15 , Alfie , our dear sweet Lakeland terrier left this world to go to his doggy heaven . We were so sad , but soon received a nicely worded Condolence Card and inside it a small sachet of sunflower seeds ti sow in our garden in remembrance of Alfie from our vet .
In the spring I started off the seeds in little pots in the greenhouse -- the snail had a few and I ended up with 3 plants which I planted out in the back garden ! They grew and grew - well over 8 ft !! ( a 4 ft variety would really suite me better !! )But I am so delighted with the ray of sunshine they give me in the garden and later n on seeds for the birds !
Well that was an inspired condolence card Beryl…what could be better to remember Alfie by than some lovely sunflowers growing in the garden he loved. Is it only twelve months…seems so much longer since we saw his sweet face.
