Bowing their heads -- by beryl

Bowing their heads --

-- after a stormy night . We have had such a dry spell , that now the much needed rain has arrived . So one last chance at taking a photo of the sunflowers . A couple of mornings back I just could not believe my eyes , as I stood in the kitchen looking out at the sunflowers , when suddenly a little head appeared , tucking away at the seeds ! A fluffy tail came up - yes it was the squirrel who swiftly scampered down the stem onto the fence and away before I could bat an eyelid let alone reach for a camera to shoot the scene !!

Beautiful sunflowers the rain would have given them a good watering and perk them up. Amazing to hear about the squirrel climbing up them for the seed .

Beautiful. Nearly ready to harvest! We are going to take ours in to dry before harvesting. Apparently a squirrel is a better option visitor than a rat!!

@craftymeg So true Margaret - in fact when I first saw the head , my thoughts went to rats !! I was so relieved to see the fluffy tail !!
