A little mystery ! by beryl

A little mystery !

One of the plants I have in the garden that I do not know its name - I hope someone can help me ! It is a perennial and has similar leaves and growth habit to an Iris or a gladioli ! I have had it in the garden for years ,having bought it from the plant stall at our Floral Art Club .
P.S - Mystery solved - thank you so much Lou Ann @louannwarren -- so now I have a "Sisyrinchium Striatium in the garden !
I looked on Garden Answers and it states this is “Sisyrinchium Striatum”, an Iris Family perennial from Chili and Argentina. It is beautiful!

@louannwarren Thanks so much Lou Ann -it really bugs me when I can not find a plant's name . Thanks so much , but will I ever remember this plant's name !!! ha !, but perhaps I will remember its common name -;pale yellow-eyed grass flower or Yellow Mexican satin flower ; - I prefer the second name !!

@beryl I like the second name too. Anything is better than the scientific name, ha!

There is an app that’s supposed to tell you the names if plants. You have inspired me to go out in my front garden & take photos of the flowers I have in my garden at the moment....a very rare occurrence as you know! The sun is round the right side so I will post them perhaps tomorrow.
