This praying mantis really didn’t seem to like the lights of the camera. For the first few flashes he kept moving his head around, I assume in curiousity or getting a better look at the machine a few inches away. After a few of these, he began to jump on the camera lens whenever the orange light came on. He took a break from attacking the camera in order to clean it’s antennae here.
In the photos of it’s face, I noticed a light blue color around the nose area, which I’ve never noticed in these common green praying mantises before.
