Oblivious to the world ..

I watched these two for ages
it was a funny sight
one friend behind the other
and I wondered if they might

be texting one another
their heads bowed to their phone
oblivious to the world
not really together but together quite alone

Thank you very much for your comments and any favs. They are always very much appreciated.
A great shot and I love your poem!

Instant fav. Wonderful poem. Sad photo. But at the moment, I sit at my computer and if I raise my eyes, I can see my husband sitting at his computer. At least we are facing each other. We are addicted also.

Mooi gedicht. Zo triest, hun telefoon is het allerbelangrijkst. Ik kan daar steeds minder goed tegen...

To my old eyes it is also very odd. Why not talk to the person beside you? It seems quite sad to me.

Great image and great poetry! They look as if they're both trying to work out where to go next ... they've come to the end of the line! Where is this taken? It looks like marshland, or an estuary? Why the walkway that suddenly ends? I'm intrigued!

@jamibann They are standing on a jetty which, when the tide comes in, would be floating in the (sea) water.
