A sad day yesterday, it was my man's funeral. I was fine until my brother Aubery said lets go to the waiting room, so Millie and I went for a walk it is a beautiful crematorium. Millie saw Sam who was the activities lady from the care home. So after composing my self chatted to Sam .My other two bothers arrived along with their partners and family. And Craig came and gave me a hug and chatted to me It was a lovely service and afterwards back to mums for the wake where it was lovely send off for my dear nan. All except Daz (youngest brother- the one that ignores me) did not turn up to the wake.... That was so sad .... After a few hours chatting and food. Craig and Aaron blew up helium balloons and we all had three each and let them go on the count of three. Nan loved a helium ballon I videoed it and it really was wonderful. Such a shame that mum could not have ALL her children together to support um on such a sad occasion....
I tried reading a poem but my mum had to come up and help me read it out as I was in tears.
Poem I read; well tried too
To my dearest darling Nan
Up in Heaven, high above,
I know today you're with us all,
And sending all your love.
Today we all remember you,
And bid you one last goodbye,
Celebrate the life you've had
And maybe have a cry.
You'll never be forgotten Nan,
I'll just close my eyes and see,
Your smiling face and feel your love
And you'll be close to me.
You had such a long life,
So many have so less,
It was your time, the Angels came,
And placed you with the best.
So dear Nan, up above
Although you're no longer here,
In my heart is where I'll keep you,
Forever, you'll be near.
This is a lovely tribute to your Nan, and it sounds like you had a special relationship. Lovely that you could share it with 2 brothers who enjoyed your company.
What a lovely tribute to your Nan. At least your Mum had most of her family with her at the wake. Whatever baggage your brother is carrying he just has to deal with himself. He obviously doesn't want to or can't get anyone to help him. You have done your best and you have dealt with the situation with dignity and you can't do better than that. Take care.
So sorry for your loss. You are to fortunate to have had such a great relationship with your Nan...such wonderful memories. THis is a beautiful tribute to your Nan, who is know watching over you all...including your ornery brother.
